I received this wine as part of a gift pack during the Wine Bloggers’ Conference in 2011. I think. I know I didn’t buy it.
CalNaturale – Chardonnay – Mendocino CA 2009 – Certified organic grapes

Notes:
Rich, golden yellow color
On the nose – toast with faint peaches
On the palate – A soft acidity (malo?) and round-ish mouthfeel. Yellow apple, flowers. The peaches remain very subtly but, for my palate, the oak is giving too much essence of Home Depot. I’m seriously wondering about the source of the oak here. Perhaps it underwent “a chpping program” as one to-remain-nameless CA winemaker once told me of one of his/her wines. I shall investigate this further.
The finish lingers and is not altogether unpleasant with an almost mineral quality.
